Huh? But it’s Sunday!

Posted by: Cas on: April 6, 2008

As the observant among you might have realised, this isn’t a Sunday Roast despite it being Sunday afternoon.

Why, you might very well feel justified in asking. How very dare I not provide you with your weekly offering of the best and weirdest that the internet has to offer?

My reason, and it is a good one, is that I had to pop back to Somerset for the Mummy Bear’s birthday and I’ve only just got back to Meadow Towers. I really don’t have the time or the mental energy to do a roast right now; if nothing else, I have a job application to write (*eek*) and my new meds are still making life… interesting.

Will there be a roast tomorrow? Hopefully. Most likely. Tell you what, I’ll tell my boss I have to be home early to feed the ravening Net hoards ;) Will that satisfy y’all?

Yikes, I feel sorry for you! I’ve been sitting here in Somerset watching the blizzards and hailstorms throughout the day :P

You’re stalking me, aren’t you? Go on, admit it. :P

But yes, the odd mini blizzards were great fun! One in the garden when showing Brother Dearest and the Magnificent S how to pinch out the tops of sweet peas, one in the garden centre when buying a lemon tree, one in the car park of the pub where we went for lunch, and one as we drove back across Salisbury Plain – Stonehenge looked pretty magnificent in the swirling snow, I will admit (and the archaeologists looked very cold!)

*snaps fingers* I’ve been found out! ;) These little coincidences are getting a bit weird!

Gotta feel sorry for the archaeologists working on Stonehenge… once in a lifetime opportunity and they get snowed on! I bet the whole monument blanketed in snow would make for a lovely series of photographs, though.

Weird. Creepy. Feeling I have a clone… You name it, I’ve felt it! (In a good way of course ;) ) If I can be very curious, were in good old Sumerzet are you at the moment?

And I have no pity in my heart for those archaeologists. They deserve to suffer a little bit for their good fortune! (Though it did look bitterly cold out there today. I’ve been on the plain in the hight of summer and the wind can be biting even at the best of times. Add in a blizzard and you’ve got to wonder at what the ancients were thinking of, building a monument slap-bang in the open like that!)

“The ancients”, that made me chuckle… Too much Stargate Atlantis? :)

And curious is fine, I’m in Taunton nowadays but used to live in Street until 2001. Really weird being back down here after spending so many years away!

I’m not sure there’s such a thing as “too much” Atlantis, but I’ve certainly watched enough of that and SG1 lately… *blush*

And Street is cool, but Glastonbury is cooler :P

To be honest, I’m not sure I could go back and live in Somerset again just yet. I’d go stir crazy!

but think of all that ancient treasure in the tor just waiting to be collected… I’m sure you’d find a way in that didn’t involve a spaceship and beaming technology, after a few year’s study.
